Ella Ferris

Ella Ferris was appointed Board Chair for Touchstone Institute in April 2021.  Ella is a retired Registered Nurse Executive Healthcare Leader.

She completed employment career, with a decade-long role as Executive Vice President, Clinical Programs, and Chief Nursing and Health Disciplines Executive at St. Michael’s Hospital.  She was responsible for operational management of Clinical Programs and was accountable for Nursing and Health Disciplines professional practice, education, and research.

In retirement, Ella remains engaged with organizations focused on enhancing Ontario’s health human resources.  She is a Board member at:

Access to Regulated Employment (CARE), Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses and Touchstone Institute (2018-current); Appointed Board Chair, effective April 2021.

Ella also remains active on Hospital Committees as follows: Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH): Clinical Quality Committee of the Board (2017-current) and, North York General Hospital: Research and Innovation Advisory Committee of the Board (June 2021-current).
