A commitment to health workforcetransformation

This year marked pivotal work by Touchstone Institute in ensuring the organization’s ongoing leadership in transforming the health workforce. In this final year of our three-year Strategic Plan (2022 to 2025), we continued to implement solutions that open doors to practice for health professionals and expand access to care for patients in Canada.

Healthcare is at a crucial juncture. Already strained health providers face the growing complexity of patients in an ageing population, intensifying the burden of overwork. Meanwhile, for patients, the uncertainty of care access presents an increasing concern.

Recognizing the urgent need for bold solutions, Touchstone initiated a thorough planning process to articulate a vision for the future of Canada’s health workforce and map a comprehensive strategy for the next five years.

Touchstone will be a trusted partner for solving healthcare human resource challenges, expanding care access, and ensuring a robust, highly competent workforce ready to serve the needs of every community.”

Touchstone Institute Strategic Plan 2025 to 2030

Purposeful consultations within and beyond the healthcare community inspired a Strategic Plan that is both visionary and action-oriented. The detailed plan builds on Touchstone’s unique perspective as Canada’s largest competency-based organization and is grounded in a stated commitment to innovation, quality, fairness, continuous improvement and collaborative relationships. Please watch out for our new Strategic Plan to be published this year.
