Registration
Instructions to register:
Once you are notified by Touchstone Institute about your referral to the program, you should receive an email to activate your account on the CMP registration portal.
If you haven’t received the account activation email within one day of being notified, please contact cmp@tsin.ca.
Learning Accommodations
If you have a learning accommodation, please let us know upon completing your registration and we will forward you our Accommodation Policy to review applicability.
Scheduling
Touchstone Institute is committed to ensuring you have as much notice as possible to arrange pertinent life matters accordingly.
While we strive to ensure your transition to residency training is smooth and meets your needs, occasionally we are not able to accommodate a date request. Should the dates you register for be unavailable for unexpected reasons, we will contact you to arrange a suitable alternative.

Program Details
Before the Program
A dedicated Online Learning Management System (LMS) has been developed for your use during and after the program. The LMS includes webinar links, online modules, pre-readings (if applicable), formative multiple choice quizzes (MCQs), and session resources.
You will receive LMS access instructions prior to the beginning of your session.
A friendly reminder to ensure that your immunization record is up to date to avoid delaying the start of your training. If you are unsure of your immunization requirements prior to training, please contact your program or PGME office.

Program Details
During the Program
Once you are enrolled and your attendance is confirmed, your full participation in the Canadian Medicine Primer is expected. Should there be unexpected events or other important life matters to schedule during the program, we are happy to work with you to ensure your participation in the program is not impacted.
All absences from scheduled programming are documented and included in the Learner Evaluation Report provided to your program and PGME office.
Attendance and participation in the Canadian Medicine Primer is the beginning of your postgraduate training in Ontario. Accordingly, it is expected that you demonstrate professionalism as you would in a clinical postgraduate training environment.
To ensure access to all program content, presentations and summary sheets are provided to you on the LMS for review before or after the session.
Our program uses a blended approach to curricular delivery that includes:
- Synchronous sessions
- Simulation with formative feedback
- Asynchronous sessions (if applicable)
- Online modules
- Weekly MCQs

After the Program
To demonstrate completion of the program, a report is provided to program directors and sponsoring agencies. The report comprises the following information:
- Attendance
- Simulated client performance indicators
- Online module completion
- MCQ scores
